Group Programs

Power Players/Social Pragmatics Group
This program is designed for children who are able to benefit from therapy in a group setting.  Most often led by an occupational therapist and a speech therapist, these groups emphasize both language and social skill development for children ages 3-11 years.  Through sensori-based activities and outdoor games, these groups explore weekly themes such as awareness of personal space, patience, sharing and losing gracefully. Groups are formed according to age and level of social skills. A screening or trial session may be necessary to determine readiness for a group.

Activities include cooperative games designed to improve body awareness, strength and motor skills; discussion of strategies to help group members participate effectively in group settings; role playing; and problem solving around real-life social situations.
